Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the 21st century, bank balance play vital role in everyone's life whether they are young or old . I mostly agree with this statment because its advantage outweighs its disadvantage .

The main reason why i am agree with this statment is that saving helps to handle emergencies . The biggest example of this is covid 20 pandemic, most of work and business are shut off due to virus and companies fires majority of their employes, at that time those worker have no choice they cant go outside for work mean no job no money . at that time saved money played a vital role for their daily expense . Another important reason saved money make young generation confident and independent . lets dive in it if a teenager learn saving skill at early age and have enough good balance, he or she can fulfil their desire and dreams which make them independent and confident . Last but not least saving money teaches young generation financial discipline responsible spending habits . young who learn to manage money they avoid unnecessary purchase . Instead they can invest their saving and allowing their wealth to grow over time which results in compound returns as. result they become financially independent at early age .

On the other hand if we talk about why im disagree because this is time when they have to explore new things and world if they started behaving like mature guy they cant enjoy their important phase of life after when they become senior they have regret in their mind that they cant utilise it in proper way .

At the end of the its important to save money for everyone specially for younger one but while saving money they also need to enjoy every moment of life .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding emergency funds, confidence, and financial discipline are relevant and supported with examples, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the development of the counter-argument is somewhat brief and lacks the depth seen in the supporting paragraphs. While the position is clear, the ideas could be more fully extended to reach a higher band. The response is well-focused on the topic, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the writer's stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'The main reason', 'Another important reason', and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'lets dive in it'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the use of cohesive devices is not always flexible or natural, which limits the score to a 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'financial discipline', 'compound returns', and 'unnecessary purchase'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'bank balance play vital role' (should be 'a vital role') and 'companies fires majority of their employes' (should be 'fired'). These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range and lack of precision, which is characteristic of a Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('bank balance play'), missing articles ('at early age'), and punctuation errors, particularly with run-on sentences and missing commas. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The writer demonstrates an attempt at complex structures, but these are often marred by inaccuracies in tense and syntax.
