Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many successful people in the world are suggesting people, especially young ones, save money for their future. In my view, I totally agree with this statement because habit of saving money can be useful in the times of difficulties and this behaviour also helps a person to become more responsible.
On the one hand, the primary benefit of saving money is that in times of difficulty the saved money can become very helpful. For example, the founder of TikTok said that in the 2010 global crisis when his company was not able to earn profit, he had used the money he had saved, which ended up saving his whole business. Similarly, the habit of saving money can make an individual more responsible. For instance, the research done by IIT Bombay has revealed that the people who have a habit of saving money from a young age tend to become more successful. As such, the person uses the money he has more wisely. Furthermore, if a person saves the money whenever they can, such a person can enjoy their retirement days because they would have more money to spend and do not need to depend on others.
However, there are some drawbacks of saving money from young age too; for instance, the person might not be able to buy the things he needs, thinking about saving money.
In sum, Although there are some drawbacks of saving money from a young age, this has more positive impacts compared to negative ones, such as this habit give you financially secure future and making you more mature and it also offers better retirement days.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding financial security and personal responsibility are relevant and supported by examples, such as the reference to the TikTok founder and the IIT Bombay research. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat brief. The counter-argument regarding the inability to purchase necessary items is mentioned but lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your supporting points with more detailed explanations or nuanced analysis, ensuring that the balance between the main argument and the counter-argument is more even.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Similarly', 'Furthermore', and 'In sum' are used effectively to guide the reader. However, the transition between the second body paragraph and the counter-argument paragraph is slightly abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is a bit mechanical. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between contrasting ideas would enhance the flow and help achieve a higher score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'financially secure', 'retirement days', and 'global crisis'. However, the vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, particularly the frequent use of 'habit of saving money' and 'money'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'habit give you' (should be 'habit gives you') and 'in the times of difficulties' (should be 'in times of difficulty'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and collocations to demonstrate a wider lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies. For example, 'habit of saving money can be useful' lacks an article ('the habit'), and 'this habit give you' contains a subject-verb agreement error. There are also issues with punctuation and article usage throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent use of articles will significantly improve your accuracy.
