Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the importance of saving money for young people. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons for saving, such as emergencies and property investment, the arguments are often repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the mention of 'The United Kingdom' as an example is vague and does not clearly illustrate how students there become independent. The position is clear, but the supporting points are under-developed, and some sections, such as the discussion on 'reach attitudes' (likely meaning 'rich attitudes'), are unclear, which hinders the overall task response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical use of cohesive devices. Transitions like 'To embark with' and 'In conclude' are non-standard and distract the reader. Referencing is also problematic; for example, in the second paragraph, the connection between 'property valuation' and 'saving money' is not clearly linked. The flow of ideas is often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument smoothly throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often inaccurate. There are several instances of word-choice errors that impede clarity, such as 'reach attitudes' instead of 'ostentatious displays of wealth' or 'materialistic attitudes', and 'emergences' instead of 'emergencies'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use collocations correctly, such as 'they have brought unnecessary things' (should be 'bought'). To improve, you need to focus on learning word families and common collocations rather than relying on direct translations or misused terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the readability of the text. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'young people includes'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'For example, The United kingdom, many young students save income because they become more independent'. The use of complex structures is attempted but is often faulty, leading to confusion. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb.
