Student answer (Band 5.0)

From my point of view and experience I am agree that saving money is the best thing to learn in the life for everyone including the young ones for their future. There are several reasons and perspective behind it, follow with the first reason of my knowledge the children will learn the value of money in the world from their own starting with we can give them a budget for purchasing somethings and tell them and move with their experience for example we can go to a grocery store and give them budget of 20 $ and tell them they can spend this money as they can but as they are putting something in the cart they can give us that money at the end they can see what they are purchasing. The other lesson we can give them by taking them to a toy store so that they can make a choice and see it they have enough money for their toy if not we can give them lesson that if you want it you can collect and save you money to buy that. So over to this all it make sense of teaching them first.

As if they know the reason behind saving money they can learn how and when to save.

For other perspective for older ones it is also important not only for a role model for their kids but also for their better life. Because there is a huge reason of saving money is for sudden circumstances.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear agreement with the importance of saving money. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide a practical example of teaching children about budgets, the explanation is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. The transition to the importance of saving for adults is abrupt and underdeveloped, as it only mentions 'sudden circumstances' without further elaboration or examples. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides sufficient supporting evidence or reasoning to fully explore the points raised, rather than listing them briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. The paragraphing is inconsistent, with a very long, rambling first paragraph and a very short, fragmented second paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'follow with the first reason of my knowledge' and 'So over to this all'. The logical flow is frequently interrupted by run-on sentences and unclear referencing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Using clearer transition signals and breaking the text into distinct, logical paragraphs would significantly improve the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'best thing to learn' and 'give them a budget'. There are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'perspective behind it' and 'collect and save you money'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, there is a lack of precision and variety. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to finance and education, and work on using collocations more accurately to express your ideas with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('I am agree'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are overly long and lack proper punctuation, leading to run-on sentences that make the text difficult to parse. For example, the sentence starting with 'for example we can go to a grocery store...' is a long, unpunctuated string of clauses. To improve, focus on writing shorter, clearer sentences and proofreading for basic errors in verb tense and sentence boundaries.
