Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that building financial savings is essential for people of all age groups, including younger generations. I completely agree with this stance because it provides a safety against emergencies, such as medical crises or economic downturns.
To begin with, having personal savings is very important when a sudden medical crisis happens. Young people can face unexpected health issues or accidents at any time. If they do not save money, they cannot pay for expensive hospital bills or special medicines. Hospital care costs a lot of money today. Having cash in the bank helps people get fast medical treatment without waiting. They do not need to borrow money from friends or banks. Therefore, saving money protects young people from heavy stress and keeps them safe during major health emergencies.
In addition to medical emergencies, the economic downfall can also occur, and become a very intense condition. Inflation means the rise in costs of most of the life essential things due to less production and teleportation. If economy of a country faces decline and inflation starts, the nation can survive if its population including younger ones has set aside a amount of money to by goods at higher costs. Global inflation mostly occurs during wars, like happening nowadays. For example, people smart about money survived survived the best during the war happened before three months.
In conclusion, it is believed that saving money for future is crucial to beat medical affairs and economic crises. I completely agree with this stance and believe it is as important for older ones as for younger generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas regarding medical emergencies and economic downturns are relevant and logically developed. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second paragraph where the explanation of inflation and the example provided are slightly vague and lack depth. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points and reinforces the initial stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition to', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there is occasional awkwardness in the flow of ideas, such as the transition between the definition of inflation and the example provided. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'economic downturns' and 'inflation', but some word choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as 'teleportation' (likely meant 'transportation') and 'medical affairs'. There are also minor errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'by goods' instead of 'buy goods'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'the economic downfall can also occur, and become a very intense condition' and 'the war happened before three months'. Punctuation is generally correct, but there are some awkward phrasings that slightly impede the flow. The control of grammar is sufficient for communication, but the frequency of errors prevents a higher score. More attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage would improve the accuracy.
