Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is argued that people of all age group including younger individuals should save money for their future. While some people believe this is true, I agree with this statement because this will provide financial security and help to achieve future goals.

The primary reason why I believe in saving money is essential for future is that, saving money will provides individual financial security in unexpected situations. This is because sometime in emergency situations like illness, job loss and accident, the saved money will reduce the financial stress. For example, from saved money a person can pay his medical bills without any financial burden or after suddenly losing job a person can continue his study without disruptions. Therefore, emergency fund can help people to became a financial independent during unforeseen circumstances.

Another important reason is that saving money can help people to achieve their important long-term goals. In other words, dreams such as pursuing higher studies, opening new business, buying new home can be achievable through enough reserved funds. For instance, a person can study abroad or buy new home without heavily relying on loans. As a result, saving from early age can help people to achieve their ambition and become successful person.

In conclusion, I agree with the statement because to get financial security for future and to accomplish dreams, money plays a vital role. Therefore, I believe that every individual including all age group such as young people should save money for their future for stable life and success.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating an agreement with the necessity of saving money. The position is maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, focusing on financial security during emergencies and the achievement of long-term goals. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While the examples provided (medical bills, job loss, studying abroad) are appropriate, they are described in a fairly basic manner. To reach a higher band, the student should aim to extend the analysis of these points further, perhaps by discussing the broader economic or psychological benefits of saving, rather than just listing scenarios.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic sentence. Cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'Another important reason', and 'In other words' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to create a more natural, sophisticated progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There is some attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'financial security', 'unforeseen circumstances', and 'long-term goals'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'became a financial independent' (should be 'financially independent') and 'saving from early age' (should be 'saving from an early age'). The vocabulary is functional but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher band scores.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'saving money will provides') and article usage (e.g., 'buying new home'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'every individual including all age group such as young people'. These errors do not impede communication, but they are noticeable and occur with enough frequency to prevent a higher score. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be beneficial.
