It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
I absolutely agree with the statement that everyone, including young people should prioritize saving money for their future. This is because of the fact that future is uncertain and they will be needing money for any unpredictable event which may or may not occur in the future.
Recent studies conducted by Indian Institute of Management says that job stability is reduced in recent times. Few years back, people were more certain about their jobs than the people right now because of increased number of layoffs happening in many companies. Elon musk in his recent podcast said that AI will replace everything by the year 2040 and robotics will run the world. During this massive paradigm shift, the one thing which can help us, are our savings.
Even if the future is certain and jobs are stable throughout the world, savings is still needed by any person for the future. Majority of people plan on buying a house, have a decent wedding, and rest in the old age. Savings are needed to achieve all three things. Young people, if they spend more money on entertainment related things, then there would be delay in purchasing a house and to have a grand wedding. Also there could be medical issues when they are old and if they do not have enough money, it would be quite hard for them to conquer the disease because of the high cost medicines and treatments.
All these factors give us enough reasons to save money for the future because we do not know what will happen in future but we can surely prepare for this uncertainity by saving as much money as we can, now.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons, such as job instability and long-term financial goals like home ownership and healthcare. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of AI and robotics is an interesting point, but it is not fully connected to the necessity of saving money in a nuanced way. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more thoroughly explained and linked directly back to the core argument of why young people specifically need to prioritize these savings.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Even if' and 'Also', but the flow between sentences can occasionally feel a bit mechanical. Some transitions are slightly repetitive, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the progression of ideas within paragraphs feels more natural and less like a list of points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'unpredictable event', 'job stability', and 'paradigm shift'. However, there are some instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'entertainment related things' and 'conquer the disease'. While these do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary that fits the context of financial planning and economic uncertainty more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'future is uncertain' (missing article), 'Few years back' (missing article), and 'savings is still needed' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are minor punctuation issues throughout. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for articles, subject-verb agreement, and consistent verb tense usage to improve your accuracy.
