Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 170 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. For example, the points regarding 'higher education' and 'pursuance of passion' are listed but not explained or linked back to the prompt in a meaningful way. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you reach the required length to allow for a full discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and body paragraphs. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect. For instance, starting a sentence with 'In contrast' when it does not follow a contrasting idea, or using 'While' incorrectly at the start of a sentence, disrupts the flow. Paragraphing is present but the ideas within the paragraphs lack a clear progression, making the text feel disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation. Phrases like 'monetary management' and 'monetary wisdom' are slightly unnatural in this context. You also struggle with word forms, such as 'adapt the habit to saving' (should be 'adopt the habit of saving'). While you attempt to use some academic vocabulary, the inaccuracies occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise terminology for financial concepts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including sentence fragments and incorrect punctuation. For example, 'Saving is a paramount factor of a monetary management.in contrast, a crucial habit...' contains a fragment and a missing space after the period. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, which limits your ability to convey ideas clearly. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for punctuation errors is essential for improvement.
