Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position on the importance of saving money. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention student loans and emergencies, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The introduction is repetitive and the conclusion does not effectively summarize the main points, instead introducing new, slightly disconnected ideas about government education. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported argument with concrete examples or logical explanations that directly relate to the prompt's focus on young people and future security.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is disjointed, and the transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'in addition how hoarding' or 'as result'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the flow of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'money' and 'individuals' throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'hoarding' (which often has a negative connotation) instead of 'saving', and 'occupied' instead of 'broke' or 'in debt'. Some phrases are awkward, such as 'detrimental situation' and 'generating fund'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to finance, such as 'financial stability', 'emergency fund', or 'long-term investment', and ensure you use words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('an individual have', 'he have options'), missing articles ('A men without money'), and incorrect sentence structures ('It significant for every individual'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some attempts at complex ones that are often grammatically flawed. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading for these common errors will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
