Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people argue that saving money for future is crucial for each individual. I also believe that everyone should save money for their future.
To begin with, older people face health issues due to aging. The cost of treatment is relatively high that's why people should save money that can be used in case of any emergency. Secondly, aged people are likely to be weak to earn for their bread and butter, with enough savings their lives will be easier to pass on. However, People having enough money in their accounts can enjoy their retirement, exploring new places around the world as well as within their home country.
Saving money in younger age is more easy as one is likely to be more productive and energetic. This money can upgrade their life standards. On the other hand, if people save money in their early ages, they are likely to be more relived in future. For instance, a person who has enough savings can ensure better future for his/her children. Moreover, young people with their savings can start a new business that will open many doors for them.
To sum up, i firmly believe that people should start saving money in their early ages as no one can predict future. If someone have enough savings they can use it in case of any emergency such as any severe accidental cases or heart related issues which requires a handsome amount of money for treatment. What is more, people who saved for the future can enjoy their life with that after retirement and they are less likely to be worried about their livelihood.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for saving money, such as health emergencies and retirement security. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the points about health emergencies and retirement are mentioned in both the second and fourth paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces distinct, well-extended arguments rather than restating similar concepts. The ideas are relevant, but they could be explored with more depth and specific examples to fully satisfy the requirements for a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', 'However', and 'To sum up' to guide the reader. While the structure is functional, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, some transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words and better referencing to avoid repeating the same phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'productive', 'energetic', and 'livelihood'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing or imprecise word choices, such as 'more easy' instead of 'easier', 'relived' instead of 'relieved', and 'handsome amount' which is not the most natural collocation in this context. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary to enhance the sophistication of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'saving money for future' (missing article), 'aged people are likely to be weak to earn' (awkward structure), 'if someone have' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'any severe accidental cases... which requires' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of these grammatical slips prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
