Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that everyone needs to save money for their future including young people. I completely agree with this view because for the obstacle times and business purposes.

The primary reason why I support this view is that difficult period. This is because we can face difficult times in life. Sometimes we need to keep backup for our future Which money can help in our future. It is so crucial for young peoples because they should save money for their bright future. As a result, if residents could not save money for their future, then they can face serious consequences. It would be a problem so that's why we have to worked hard in our present for the future who can saved us with subsequently circumstances. For example, my father faced a big loss in business in recent years and after some period he lost his full business. However, it did not affect in my family because my father saved so much money in his young ag so now, we are using that money to build a new business.

Another significant reason is that business. In other words, some people who is doing jobs in different companies then they fired from their jobs then if they have a saving then then can invest money in business. Specially it's so essential for youngsters for their incredible future. Consequently, one young man who is also student if he has a job and also, he is a saving money for their future then he may become a great businessman in future because of hard working which he has done in his young age. For instance, one of my friends who worked hard in such a young age when other friends were enjoying their life, but he kept busy and also saving money for the future. Now he is one of the biggest businessmen of the city.

In conclusion, I firmly agree that we have to save money because of bad time and some businesses opportunities. Therefore, from my perspective this is the most appropriate approach

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of saving money. The ideas are relevant, focusing on financial security during difficult times and the potential for business investment. However, the development is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'business purposes' is mentioned in the introduction and then becomes the focus of the second body paragraph, but the explanation remains simplistic. While the personal examples provided (the father's business loss and the friend's success) support the position, the overall analysis could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'Another significant reason', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'then' and 'and also' within sentences. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where pronouns like 'he' and 'they' are used without precise antecedents. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making the progression of ideas feel a bit forced rather than natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. The student relies on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'difficult times', 'bright future', and 'hard working'. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'obstacle times', 'subsequently circumstances', and 'doing jobs'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of errors in word formation (e.g., 'young peoples') limit the score. To improve, the student should focus on learning more precise collocations and academic synonyms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('some people who is doing', 'he is a saving money'), tense inconsistencies ('we have to worked hard'), and awkward sentence fragments. Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and missing commas that hinder readability. While the student attempts complex structures, the high frequency of errors often distracts the reader. A focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the clarity of the writing.
