Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world, the issue of saving money has sparked a considerable debate. While some people believe that saving money for future is very crucial irrespective which involves youngsters as well, I strongly believe that to due to several reasons. This essay will discuss the reasons for this believe long with my opinion.

The most significant reason is using money in the emergency situations. Though future is unpredictable, if any kind of physical injury or health problem occurs in future then atleast an individual can use their savings for treatment. Due to this, there will be less stress at the time of emergency. Foe example, the only earning man in the house have accident, so in that stressful condition the family can use that money on the person for treatment by this way the whole family will be less stressed about the sudden arrangement of money.

Moreover, savings are really crucial for building future. If parents or youngsters save money, then they can use it for the purpose of education or investment in the form of property as education system is getting really expensive to be afforded by everyone. If the family has some currency saved in their account, then they do not need to think of whether they should take higher education or not.

In conclusion, I totally agree that savings are really important for every individual in the society for the security or future and for any emergency situation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the response is 241 words, which is below the 250-word minimum requirement, leading to a penalty. While the ideas regarding emergency funds and education are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped. The introduction is also slightly confusing, as the sentence 'I strongly believe that to due to several reasons' is incomplete and lacks a clear stance on the 'extent' of agreement. To improve, ensure you fully develop your arguments with more specific examples and meet the word count requirement to avoid a negative impact on your score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'The most significant reason', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to link ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the overall structure could be improved by ensuring that each paragraph has a more robust topic sentence and a clearer concluding thought.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic words like 'money', 'future', and 'important'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'currency saved in their account' instead of 'savings' or 'financial reserves'. There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'believe' used as a noun instead of 'belief'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to finance and personal development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'irrespective which involves youngsters' and 'the only earning man in the house have accident'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction, particularly in the introduction. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often marred by errors in subject-verb agreement and preposition usage. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences and refining your control over complex structures will significantly improve your score.
