Student answer (Band 6.5)
I firmly subscribe to the view that it is really necessary to save money so it help in the future. I strongly agree with this opinion because saving money can help people to deal with unexpected expenses and achieve their future goals.
The most persuasive argument in favor of this view is that saving money provides financial support. Life can be unpredictable, and people may suddenly need money for emergencies such as medical treatment, education, or important repairs. If young people develop the habit of saving from an early age, they will be better prepared for such situations. For example, a student who regularly saves a small amount of money can use it later for university fees or other educational expenses.
Secondly, saving money helps people achieve their long-term goals. Young people may want to buy a car, start a business, travel, or continue their education. These goals usually require a large amount of money. By saving a little every month, they can gradually build enough money without depending too much on others.
Some people believe that young people should spend their money and enjoy their lives. Although enjoying life is important, spending all their money can create financial problems in the future. Therefore, young people should find a balance between spending and saving.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that everyone, including young people, should save money for the future. It provides financial security and helps people achieve their long-term goals. Developing this habit early can make their future more stable and comfortable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt clearly. You have taken a firm position and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant and logically developed, particularly the distinction between emergency funds and long-term goals. To reach a higher band, ensure that your examples are slightly more detailed; for instance, instead of just mentioning 'university fees', you could briefly explain how early saving mitigates the burden of student loans. Overall, the response is well-focused and directly answers the question asked.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, a counter-argument paragraph, and a conclusion. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'The most persuasive argument', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' effectively. To improve, try to incorporate a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the transition between the counter-argument and your final stance is more fluid. The paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to the overall clarity of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your ideas clearly. Phrases like 'unexpected expenses', 'financial security', and 'long-term goals' are used accurately. However, the vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and lacks the 'less common' items that would push the score into the 8.0 range. To improve, try to use more sophisticated synonyms for common words like 'help' or 'money' and focus on more precise collocations to demonstrate a higher level of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most sentences are clear and error-free, which ensures that communication is never impeded. There are minor slips, such as 'so it help' (should be 'so it helps') in the first sentence. While you show good control, the range of complex structures is somewhat limited. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more varied subordinate clauses and perhaps some passive constructions or conditional forms to demonstrate greater grammatical flexibility.
