Student answer (Band 5.5)

Most of the individuals think that it is really crucial for the youth to save money and cut the corners regarding their future. I firmly agree with this notion because saving money is indeed a good habit whether you are student or a grown up.

To commence with the first notion, it is genuinely the best thing to save money instead of spending on useless things. Moreover, by doing this youngsters know the value of money and investing it in more suitable things. However, most of the people preserve cash in order to use that in their difficult period of time so that they do not have to ask anybody regarding financial issues whereas they also can help their loved ones if they are in need of urgent funds. To cite an example, my brother want to have a laptop instead of asking for it to our parents, he purchased it with his savings. As a result, saving money become beneficial in challenging situations.

Furthermore, adults work 9 to 5 to earn specific income for their needs and fulfil their desires but some of them investing in property while other spend that on futile stuff. Therefore, in the future, they regret about those days and live a miserable life. Likewise, parents also teach their young ones to save money for their great future, it is in their hands to help them understand the value of savings. For instance, a friend of mine wants to learn guitar, he put all his savings to learning this skill and it will beneficial for him for his future. Consequently, by knowing the value of monetary, everyone can achieve his dreams.

In conclusion, I once again reaffirm my portion that i am strongly agree with this notion because this habit give wings to individual dreams to grow higher and higher.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the importance of financial independence and avoiding future regret. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'futile stuff' is vague, and the examples provided, while personal, lack the depth required for a higher band. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the supporting points could be more thoroughly extended to demonstrate a more sophisticated understanding of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'Consequently', though some are used in a slightly mechanical or repetitive way. Referencing is generally clear, although the transition between the discussion of youth and adults is somewhat abrupt. The overall structure is coherent, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task, helping the reader follow the writer's argument without significant difficulty.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher bands. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'cut the corners' (which usually means to do something in the easiest way, not to save money) and 'value of monetary'. While the writer attempts to use some less common vocabulary, these attempts are often slightly inaccurate. The range is sufficient to convey the message, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or sophisticated control required for a band 7 or above.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('my brother want', 'saving money become', 'it will beneficial') and awkward phrasing ('i am strongly agree'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the errors in basic grammar are noticeable and occur throughout the text. These errors do not impede communication, but they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score.
