Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of saving money. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the second paragraph touches on retirement and emergency funds, the first paragraph is somewhat unfocused, discussing general financial aid and luxury travel rather than the specific importance of saving for the future. The third paragraph introduces the relevant point of impulsive buying, but the connection to the prompt's focus on 'saving for the future' could be more explicitly linked. Overall, the ideas are relevant but lack the depth and logical extension required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'History is a witness of the people' is awkward, and the use of 'For example' and 'Secondly' is somewhat repetitive. There are also issues with referencing; the phrase 'these hike indicates us' is unclear in its reference. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional lapses in paragraph unity prevent a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'convient', 'peaced', 'oppourtunity', 'somthing') and some awkward collocations, such as 'create huge amount wealth' and 'take a risk any buy any businesses'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on basic terms like 'important', 'good', and 'big'. To improve, you should focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of common words to avoid distracting the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Money plays', 'people who has created'), missing articles ('in case of illness', 'in few clicks'), and incorrect verb forms ('ended -up getting in to debt'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures limits the score.
