Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the task by emphasizing the importance of saving money for the future, particularly for young people. However, it lacks clear argumentation and structure. The introduction and conclusion are weak, and the body paragraphs do not provide strong examples to support the ideas presented. The author could benefit from more explicitly stating their position in relation to the prompt, which affects the overall clarity of the argument. Overall, the response slightly meets the task requirements but falls short of a fully developed argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The coherence and cohesion of the essay are somewhat lacking. While ideas are presented, the organization is not effective, leading to a slightly disjointed flow. Sentences often appear unconnected, and transitions between ideas are weak. For instance, phrases like "at that age" and "sometime due to several reason" disrupt the logical progression. Clear topic sentences and more linking phrases could enhance the overall cohesion and clarity of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource demonstrates a basic range of vocabulary, but there are instances of repetition and misuse of phrases. Words such as "unsupportive body" and "greater impact in our society" are vague and can be expressed more precisely. There are also some awkward phrases like "saving done by us" which could be phrased more naturally. The student should aim for more varied vocabulary to make their arguments stronger and clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

Grammatical range and accuracy show a mix of correct and awkward structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues, such as "there are many factor" (should be "factors") and incorrect verb forms. Punctuation errors, like a lack of commas, also disrupt the reading flow. While some sentences are clear, the overall grammar lacks the variety and accuracy expected at higher bands, which affects clarity and communication.

Overall feedback

Your response provides a basic discussion of the importance of saving money, but it requires more development and clarity. Try to clearly state your position on the topic and provide specific examples to support your arguments. Additionally, consider organizing your essay with better transitions and clear topic sentences. Focus on enhancing your vocabulary to express your ideas in a more precise manner, and pay attention to grammatical structures for clearer expression. Practicing these skills will help you achieve a higher band score.
