Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the generation we are heading to this is the time to understand that there has been an increasing demand of our daily needs in our day to day life and as the modern needs have encouraged people to buy expensive things like expensive cars, mobile phones, clothes, branded items, etc. There has been a massive change in the lifestyle of people nowadays. People tend to buys things by looking at others. The youth has adapted the online viral things to buy them and spend lots of unnecessary money which is a bad habit adapted nowadays.
Basically to help parents save money for their near future that will be useful for their studies and will help them to live a healthy life ahead.
Spending money on things that are not needed they shroud avoid buying things and look for things that are in use only and buy them. They should be made to understand from a very young age to learn to save money. Recently as I was going through some online content, I read that children should be assigned work and parents should pay them for completing their task and then given 3 jars to save that money by splitting it into 3. The first jar is to save for investment the. The second jar for donating the needy. The third jar to spend. The investing jar should be interested by the parents by adding a little more money secretly to make them understand what does investment means. This will help the children to understand how to save money and use them wisely.
So basically parents should teach children how to earn, how to save, how to spend, and how to invest the money. This will help them to save money in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by agreeing that saving is important, but the development is uneven. While you provide a relevant example regarding the 'three jars' method, the initial paragraphs are somewhat repetitive and lack a clear, focused argument. The position is clear, but the explanation of why saving is important for young people is slightly underdeveloped. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to the prompt, and expand on the 'why' behind your arguments rather than just describing the current state of consumerism.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow between them is weak. The transition from the discussion of consumerism to the 'three jars' example is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often basic or misused (e.g., 'Basically to help parents...'). The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'buy things' and 'save money'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'the youth has adapted the online viral things' (should be 'adopted' or 'been influenced by') and 'the investing jar should be interested by the parents' (should be 'managed' or 'supervised'). To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'In the generation we are heading to this is the time to understand...' is a run-on sentence with awkward phrasing. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'shroud avoid' (should be 'should avoid') and 'use them wisely' (referring to 'money', which is uncountable). Increasing your control over sentence punctuation and ensuring subject-verb agreement will help improve your score.
