Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of saving money. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention retirement and financial management, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the phrase 'live better life' is used multiple times without explaining how or why saving specifically facilitates this. The ideas are somewhat generalized, and the connection between saving and the education system is introduced but not fully explored. To improve, focus on providing specific, concrete examples—such as saving for higher education or emergency funds—to support your claims more effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'due to that' are overused and sometimes grammatically incorrect in context. Transitions between sentences are occasionally abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. For example, the transition 'Moreover, all the youngsters should save money through to catching opportunity' is unclear and lacks logical connection to the previous sentence. Improving the variety and precision of linking words will help create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'better life' and 'save money'. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'modern span', 'catching opportunity', and 'grub the skills' (likely meant 'grasp'). These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including more precise nouns, verbs, and collocations related to finance, such as 'financial security', 'prudent investment', or 'long-term stability', rather than repeating simple phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with article usage ('a money'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'Saving money is most important part of young life but must save money.' The control over complex structures is weak, and errors in basic grammar are persistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors requires the reader to work harder to interpret your intended message. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
