Student answer (Band 6.0)
Money has become a subject of considerable debate theses days. It is often argued that it is essential for adults and young people to save money for their future. I strongly agree with this view because financial resources help us to survive in our difficult times and allow us to fulfil our dreams.
One of the primary reasons for saving money is that over time, the inflation rate is increasing and it is alarming for people. People can reduce their costs in present and can save money for difficult times especially for medical expenses. They can also use their savings if by any chance they lose their jobs and also they can start their own business by their savings. For instance, an older man who gets sick and does not have any job can pay his medical bills from his savings. As a result, savings can help us in our challenging circumstances.
Another primary reason is that savings give you various opportunities to take advantage of without getting dependent on anyone. This is mainly because adults can enroll in their desired university and even they can go abroad for higher studies. Students can enhance their skills by taking professional training which helps them in their professional lives. For example, a child can buy coding course and develop skills that are necessary for a job. Consequently, savings provide possibilities to fulfil our dreams in future.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that everyone should save money for their futures because financial security allows us to face our complex situations more calmly and possibility of taking advantage of different opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding financial security during emergencies and the pursuit of personal development are relevant and well-supported. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive; for instance, the focus on 'difficult times' appears in both body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, you could expand on the long-term benefits of compound interest or the psychological benefits of financial independence, rather than focusing primarily on emergencies. The conclusion effectively restates the position, though it could be more nuanced.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic sentence, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use cohesive devices such as 'One of the primary reasons,' 'Another primary reason,' and 'Consequently' to link your points. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that the flow between sentences is more natural. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'financial resources,' 'inflation rate,' and 'challenging circumstances.' There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'buy coding course' (should be 'buy a coding course') and 'possibility of taking advantage' (which is grammatically awkward in the conclusion). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the overall range is somewhat limited. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing like 'primary reason' at the start of both paragraphs.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'theses days' (spelling), 'in present' (missing article), and 'by their savings' (preposition error; should be 'with their savings'). Additionally, the sentence 'possibility of taking advantage of different opportunities' in the conclusion is a fragment and lacks a main verb. You have good control over basic structures, but more consistent accuracy in complex sentences and better attention to articles and prepositions would improve your score.
