Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of starting a business and personal financial security. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the explanation of why young people should save is quite general, and the example of the cousin is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and perhaps explore broader implications of saving, such as economic stability or the psychological benefits of financial independence, rather than just repeating the core argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. Phrases like 'It is hereby note that' and 'I agree with this term' are awkward and do not effectively link ideas. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the conclusion, the transitions between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall flow is occasionally interrupted by phrasing that does not quite fit the context of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'retain money' instead of 'save money', and 'useless pursuits' which is a bit informal. The phrase 'money strategy' is also non-standard. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and occasional misuse of collocations limit the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to finance and personal development, and ensure you are using words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'the every person', 'Saving money is not proves beneficial', and 'he don't try to desert'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to suggest a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining the use of articles would significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
