Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of saving money. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention the importance of saving for old age and emergencies, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about natural disasters is relevant but is not fully explained or linked back to the broader concept of financial planning for young people. To improve, you should aim to provide more specific, well-reasoned examples and ensure that each paragraph contributes a distinct, fully developed point to support your overall argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very basic and sometimes mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'Firstly' and 'Secondly'. There are also issues with sentence-level cohesion, where ideas within paragraphs do not always flow logically. For example, the transition between the need for money in old age and the mention of natural disasters is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'money', 'important', and 'good'. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'peak time of our life' and 'dose not have any effort'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'envoirment' and 'batter'. To reach a higher band, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including more precise nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and pay closer attention to correct spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies almost exclusively on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('the world envoirment change'), article usage ('the money is important'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing or incorrectly placed commas and periods. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and then attempt to incorporate a variety of complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
