Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is argued by some people it is very sufficient for them to save money for their future. I disagree with this statement because of fear of losing money, scare of a death, and control on their current expenses.

Firstly, many people including young people can face different problems like they can lose money, they can die, and cannot fulfill their other expenditures properly. Although saving money is good, I would argue that they should spend their money because they can face any mishap in daily life. They think they should keep their money in their banks for upcoming years but they can face many incidents such as stealing their debit cards, death and destruction of their living place. For example, in recent study there are many cases are happening like sudden death and demolishment of properties.

Secondly, a group of people is saving money because they would prefer to use in their future that can be alternative of their thoughts. If, people will save money how they can fulfill their current expenditures. They are securing money but what if they could not protect their money for future. All individuals need to spend their money on them, but they also need to look for a secure and a high paying- positions. For example, in today's world most people are trying to spend less money on their needs and saving it for future use.

In conclusion, people should they try to Avoid these kinds of activities in which they are saving money over take caring about their expenses. people need to search for high-paying jobs therefore, they can safe their future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but the arguments are often illogical or difficult to follow. For instance, the claim that people should not save money because they might die or have their debit cards stolen is not a strong or relevant counter-argument to the importance of financial planning. The position is clear, but the development of ideas is weak and lacks coherence. The essay struggles to provide a rational justification for why young people should prioritize spending over saving, which limits the depth of the response. To improve, focus on providing more realistic and logical arguments, such as the need for immediate investment in education or the impact of inflation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are often followed by sentences that do not logically flow from the previous ones. For example, the transition between the idea of 'mishaps' and 'stealing debit cards' is abrupt and confusing. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the phrase 'alternative of their thoughts' in the second paragraph, which makes the reader struggle to follow the writer's train of thought. More attention should be paid to ensuring each sentence builds logically upon the last.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and non-standard collocations, such as 'scare of a death', 'demolishment of properties', and 'saving money over take caring about their expenses'. These errors sometimes impede the reader's understanding. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to finance and economics, and ensure that you use words in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('there are many cases are happening'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are awkward or grammatically incomplete, such as 'It is argued by some people it is very sufficient for them to save money'. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty and lead to confusion. The control of basic grammar is inconsistent, which significantly impacts the clarity of the writing. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
