Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate about whether everyone should save money for their future. From my perspective, money plays an important role in our lives. People have to save it to tackle emergency situations.
One major advantage of saving money is that when a medical emergency appeared then people can use theses savings to tackle situations. Nowadays, medical cost have increased we have to pay a lot of money to hospitals. The government already provides free medical treatment in government hospitals, however citizen trust private hospitals which are more costly. For instance, Pakistani government provides free treatment in the government hospitals but people prefer Al-Shifa and Agha Khan hospitals because they believe that these hospital are better to treat any kind of disease. These hospitals are expensive. Therefore, citizens of Pakistan prefer to save money to tackle illness.
Furthermore, extra money will be helpful for students because they have to pay a lot of tuition fees. If they develop a habit to save money, they will be able to pursue their higher education without depending on their parents. Many students do part-time jobs to meet their expenses. For example, a student is doing a job during his academic period he will save money for his further education and be able to support his parents. Additionally, he will get practical experience, so he will get a job after completing his degree in relevant field because he already has a experience. Therefore, almost every university allow students to do part-time job during study because they know the importance of habit saving money.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that saving money is important for everyone, particularly young people, because they can tackle emergency situations easily without depending on others. Moreover, building a habit of saving money will be helpful to get higher education and to build a strong career.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed the prompt clearly, taking a firm stance in favor of saving money. You provide two distinct supporting arguments: the necessity of funds for medical emergencies and the benefits for students pursuing higher education. The ideas are relevant and generally well-supported with examples, such as the mention of specific hospitals in Pakistan and the role of part-time work for students. To reach a higher band, ensure that your examples are more tightly integrated into the argument; for instance, the connection between part-time work and saving for tuition is clear, but the link to 'gaining experience' could be more explicitly tied back to the core topic of financial security.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'these savings' referring back to a general concept rather than a specific antecedent. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, which helps the overall flow. To improve, try to vary your cohesive devices and ensure that pronouns clearly point to the intended nouns to improve the smoothness of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'tackle emergency situations', 'tuition fees', and 'pursue higher education'. There are some instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'medical cost have increased' (should be 'costs') and 'habit saving money' (should be 'habit of saving money'). While you successfully convey your meaning, the vocabulary is somewhat functional rather than sophisticated. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise collocations and less common lexical items related to finance and personal development, while ensuring grammatical accuracy in their usage.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('medical cost have increased', 'every university allow') and article usage ('a experience'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical markers like pluralization and articles. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures, such as using more conditional clauses or relative clauses, would also help demonstrate better control over your grammatical range.
