Student answer (Band 6.0)
I agree with the given statement. Money is one of the most powerful things in the world. Almost everything can be purchased from money and everyone is trying to earn more and more money. So it is very important for each and every individual of every age to save their money for the future.
Future is very unpridictable, anything can happen without any warning like emergencies don't ask before they show up. There is no harm in saving the money. For instnace- when a pandemic named covid-19 came to existance then everybody were locked up at thier homes without earning anything for months, at that time many people survived on their savings. There are other benefits also, like several individuals save money in the banks which give them return in the future.
Many people also saves money to buy something expensive in the upcoming times. For instance- a man is saving 30 % of his salary every month in order to buy a car from mercedes, after several years he actually bought that car. So this tells that even saving is a time consuming but a high return on investment process. Even young people should save money even just a small amount from their pocket money, this can help them in further times. It can help them in thier future work or in any emergency.
In conclusion, everyone should be aware about saving and there is no harm in it, many people have already started saving, and there is no particular age to do it, it can be done by anyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding financial security during emergencies and the ability to purchase expensive items are relevant and supported by examples, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and saving for a car. However, the development of ideas is somewhat simplistic. While the position is clear, the depth of analysis could be improved by exploring the potential downsides or the challenges young people face in saving, which would provide a more balanced and sophisticated discussion. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, but the overall development remains at a standard level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. There is a progression of ideas from the importance of saving to practical examples and finally to a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For instance' and 'In conclusion', although some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are a bit disjointed. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure allows the reader to follow the argument without difficulty. To reach a higher band, more sophisticated linking words and a smoother flow between sentences would be beneficial.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and sophistication. The student relies on basic terms like 'powerful things', 'earn more', and 'no harm'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'unpridictable', 'existance', and 'thier', which are noticeable. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'return on investment', the overall range is limited. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a wider lexical range, while also paying closer attention to spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('everybody were', 'many people saves') and incorrect preposition usage ('purchased from money' instead of 'purchased with money'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences and minor errors in sentence construction. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures and ensuring greater accuracy in basic grammar would help elevate the score in this criterion.
