Student answer (Band 6.5)
Forming the habit of saving is undoubtedly a good practice for people of all ages. It teaches us to be economic and allows us to lead a life with minimal financial crisis. Therefore, everyone including the younger people should try to put a certain portion of their income into savings. I mostly agree with this statement, though there might be some poeple who do feel the need to save. My justifications are discussed below.
In todays world, a considerable number of countries are facing the problem of inflation. As a result, the income of the people is not sufficient to meet all the needs and demands. So, people need other sources of income to lead a decent life. Savings can play a major role in this case. People can invest their money to generate revenue which will provide them with additional income. However, the money earned can further be invested for future safety. Another important benefit that can arise from savings is the sense of security. The money saved can be used in the time of crisis which allows us to face a difficult situation with strength. People who do not save may face the urgency to borrow money from a financial institution or from the people they know. Consequently, they experience more burden, since they need to pay off the debt along with interest.
Savings also allow poeple to purchase something for which they may not have the budget at that point in time. This practice also enables people to avoid unnecessary expenditures and waste of resources. Thus, this habit should be practiced from the beginning, especially by young people before stepping into their professional life because this will help them to learn to manage their finances properly.
Nonetheless, some people possessing vast amount of resources, do not feel the need to save. Which may seem to make sense but bad things can happen at any time for which savings can provide a cushion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas regarding inflation, financial security, and debt avoidance are relevant and well-supported. However, the development is slightly uneven; the final paragraph regarding those with 'vast resources' is a bit brief and could have been better integrated into the main argument to provide a more balanced perspective. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points. Cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'As a result', 'However', and 'Consequently' are used effectively to link sentences and ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions between paragraphs could be more sophisticated to enhance the overall coherence. The use of referencing is generally clear, though the connection between the final paragraph and the preceding arguments could be more seamless.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is sufficient for the task and allows for some flexibility. You have used some good collocations like 'minimal financial crisis', 'unnecessary expenditures', and 'manage their finances'. There are a few minor spelling errors, such as 'poeple' (repeated) and 'todays' (missing apostrophe). While the range is adequate, incorporating more precise or academic vocabulary—such as 'fiscal prudence' or 'financial contingency'—would elevate the score. The current range is functional and conveys meaning clearly without significant errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most sentences are clear and grammatically sound, though there are occasional errors, such as the sentence fragment 'Which may seem to make sense but bad things can happen...' and the missing apostrophe in 'todays'. Punctuation is generally handled well, but the occasional slip in sentence construction prevents a higher score. The majority of your writing is error-free, and your control over complex structures is sufficient to communicate your ideas effectively.
