Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary epoch, the money play vital roles in individuals life. However a section of society deems that saving money for upcoming years is significantly crucial for everyone as well as for the youngsters. Although I agree with the aforementioned notion.
To begin with, there are many reasons why saving money for future is important. The first and foremost reason is that the elderly people have to look upon their health after retirements because during that they might not get the job to earn money. So, they most have to prioritize money for future development. Another reason is saving money not only help the children about money management but also they can learn important lessons about the life. For instance, in China's schools many teacher organize the event where children are encouraged about saving money.
Furthermore, despite the benefits there are also many underlying advantages of saving money is that the individual can easily secure their life while buying their own home. Hence, this thing will helps them in long term to handle their life by focusing on various things. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the importance of retirement planning and financial literacy for children. However, the development is somewhat uneven. For instance, the argument regarding 'underlying advantages' is slightly confusing as it repeats the theme of saving rather than introducing a new perspective. While the points are supported with examples, such as the mention of China and India, the explanation could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'To conclude,' though some are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'Last but not the least' and 'Despite the benefits there are also many underlying advantages.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between buying a home and the previous point about children is abrupt. Paragraphing is present but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'money play vital roles,' 'look upon their health,' and 'this thing will helps them.' While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'financial literacy' (implied) or 'investing,' the overall range is limited. The repetition of basic phrases like 'saving money' and 'future' indicates a need for a broader range of synonyms and more sophisticated lexical items.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('money play,' 'this thing will helps,' 'parents helps'), article usage ('the money,' 'the elderly people'), and awkward phrasing ('society should must invest'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic grammar rules and sentence construction is necessary to improve accuracy.
