Student answer (Band 5.5)
Money is an essential need to survive in this world. We need money to buy the basic necessities of life without which survival is not possible. These basic needs include food, shelter, clothes etc. As the world is tremendously progressing and with the technological advancements taking place we know that the price hikes in the markets follow a similar pattern, it goes up and up never goes down. It is not possible to survive without having any savings. So, in my opinion it is very important for everyone including the youth to save what ever they can without compromising the needs of present. Saving is essential in case of emergencies for example if a family hasn't done any savings and anybody gets involve in the accident that family would require money in order to take the patient and get him treated or else they will have the take loans from any family member or banks etc. Moreover, if a person is running a successful business, he never know how the trends in the markets get changed so he could only survive the loss when he has enough savings to feed his family and to recover from the loss. Young people also need to save money for their future because we never know what future might brings. We need to get prepared in advance in order to face the circumstances if the prices of the goods and services increase. Similarly, technology owns the world, maybe in the future everything gets thousandfold expensive as it is now so the youth should save enough to deal with these issues later without worrying much about money and it will be only possible if they'd have enough savings to live according to that time. I must say that each and every person should save what ever possible because we never know what might happen in the future so it's better to be prepared for circumstances in advance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of saving money. The ideas are relevant, focusing on emergencies and economic uncertainty. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, as the argument regarding 'future uncertainty' is restated multiple times without adding new depth. While the position is clear throughout, the essay lacks a formal structure, such as distinct paragraphs for different arguments, which limits the depth of the analysis. To reach a higher band, you should aim to organize your points into clear paragraphs and provide more varied, specific examples beyond general statements about price hikes and accidents.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks paragraphing, which is a significant issue for coherence. The entire response is presented as a single block of text, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. While there are some cohesive devices used, such as 'Moreover' and 'Similarly', they are sometimes used mechanically or to connect ideas that are already quite similar. The flow of the argument is generally logical, but the lack of clear paragraph breaks prevents the essay from achieving a higher score. Improving the structure by separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion would greatly enhance the readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic phrases like 'money is an essential need' and 'price hikes'. There are some awkward collocations, such as 'technology owns the world' and 'get involve in the accident', which sound unnatural. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little attempt to use less common or more sophisticated lexical items. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to financial planning and economic concepts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and articles, such as 'if a family hasn't done any savings' (should be 'has not saved') and 'they will have the take loans' (should be 'have to take'). Subject-verb agreement and tense consistency are also inconsistent, for example, 'we never know what future might brings'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
