Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that everyone. especially young people, should saving money for their future, i strongly agreed with this view because saving money can provide financial security, to help achieve young people long term goals.

First of all saving money is very important because it can protect future financial problems, life is unpredictable and people may suddenly face these situations such as losing of job, unexpected road accident, any expensive reapired. if someone employe save money every month he can use this money when the above mentioned situations occured.

On the other hand saving can provide help young people achieve their future goals sach as someone want to buy a house, to get married, starting a new business, cuntinue study and also many futuer goals.

So I totally agreed of this statement saving money is very essential for everyone, it will help for the bad time, its not mean that save all of the income just save the percentage that you want to save.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 165 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction and provide some relevant reasons—such as financial security and achieving long-term goals—the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting detail or specific examples. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you must expand your points by explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, you use 'First of all' and 'On the other hand' to signal new points, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are often abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'these situations such as losing of job'. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that flows logically into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'expensive reapired' instead of 'expensive repairs' and 'cuntinue study' (spelling error). You rely on basic vocabulary, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, focus on learning word families and collocations—for example, instead of 'save money', use 'accumulate savings' or 'build a financial buffer'. Also, ensure you proofread for basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement ('everyone... should saving'), article usage ('losing of job'), and sentence structure (run-on sentences and fragments). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate, such as 'if someone employe save money every month he can use this money when the above mentioned situations occured'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex grammatical structures. Consistent practice with proofreading will help you identify these recurring errors.
