Student answer (Band 6.0)
IT IS OFTEN ARGUED THAT YOUNG PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE TO ECONOMIZE RATHER THAN BEING EXTRAVAGANT. I AGREE WITH THIS VIEW THAT YOUNG GENERATION SHOULD NOT SPEND MONEY FOR THE LAVISH LIFESTYLE INSTEAD THEY SHOULD BE FARSIGHTED AND TRY TO SAVE MONEY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
THE MAIN REASON BEHIND MY OPINION IS THAT IF THE PERSON IS FUTURE-ORIENTED ,HE WILL BE ABLE TO SURVIVE IN UNFAVOURABLE CONDITION. HE WILL GAIN THE SPECIAL SKILL TO MANAGE HIS RESOURCES.
A CLEAR EXAMPLE OF THIS IS THAT OF THE PERSON WHO IS DOING BUSINESS; HE WILL FIRST PREPARE THE FEASIBILITY REPORT, MANAGES HIS BUDGET AND CONTROL THE UNNECESSARY EXPENSES. IN THIS WAY HE WILL SAVE MONEY FOR FUTURE USE AND IT WILL HELP HIM TO FLOURISH HIS BUSINESS DESPITE OF FINANCIAL LOSSES.
ANOTHER MORE EVIDENT REASON FOR MY POINT OF VIEW IS THAT THIS PRACTICE MAKE YOUNG GENERATION TO MANAGE HIS EXPENSES MORE EFFECIENTLY THAN THE PERSON WHO SPEND MONEY WITHOUT PLANNING. THEY WILL LEARN TO CONTROL THEIR DESIRES AND MANGE HIS DEMANDS IN SPITE OF SPENDING CAPITAL IN AN UNCONTROLLED MANNER. FOR INSTANCE, THE STUDENTS LIVING IN THE HOSTEL HAVE TO SAVE MONEY FOR LATER EXPENCES. IF HE SAVE MONEY FO FUTURE NEEDS; HE WILL BE ABLE TO SURVIVE IN THIS MONEY, OTHERWISE HE WILL RUN OUT OF MONEY.
THE OPPONENT TO THIS VIEW IS THAT IT WILL MAKE THE PERSON PENNY PINCHER AND MISER. THEY BELIREVE THE PERSON WHO ALWAYS LOOK AHEAD CANNOT ENJOY THE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. AT LAST, HE WILL BECOME TIRED AND EXHAUSTED BY THIS.
TO CONCLUDE, BOTH THE ARGUMENTS CARRY WEIGHT BUT THE BALANCE SHOULD BE MAINTAINED. A PERSON SHOULD NEITHER BE EXTRAVAGANT, NOR MISER. HE SHOULD SPEND MONEY ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS INSTEAD OF SPENDING MONEY ON THE LAVISH LIFESTYLE.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding financial security and resource management are relevant, though the development is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the example of the business person and the student in a hostel both essentially repeat the same point about saving for future needs. To reach a higher band, you should aim to explore the implications of saving more deeply, perhaps by discussing the broader economic benefits or the psychological impact of financial independence, rather than just repeating the concept of 'surviving'. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, maintaining a balanced view.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central idea. You use some cohesive devices such as 'The main reason behind my opinion', 'Another more evident reason', and 'To conclude'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as using 'he' to refer to a general 'young person', which can sound slightly unnatural. The transition between the counter-argument and the conclusion is functional, but the overall progression could be smoother with a more varied range of linking words and better control over pronoun references.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'economize', 'extravagant', 'farsighted', and 'feasibility report'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'flourish his business' (instead of 'expand' or 'sustain') and 'in this money' (instead of 'on this budget'). There are also several spelling errors, such as 'effeciently', 'mange', 'expences', and 'belireve'. While these do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on precise collocations and proofreading for spelling would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the young generation' (should be 'the younger generation'), 'the person who spend' (should be 'spends'), and 'despite of' (should be 'despite'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some spacing issues after commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these grammatical slips suggests a need for more careful editing and a stronger grasp of basic sentence construction rules.
