Student answer (Band 5.5)

Saving money for future is an essential practice that need to practice all of people, including younger generation. It is a very impressive habit among the people always. But, saving money without spending them for important things is not a correct way. Perhaps, need to think about the techniques and tactics which is important to spend and save the money all the time. In my point, saving money not always beneficial while investing is a one of a best way to utilize money as a revenue.

According to future prospectus, money reserves will very curtail when emergency such as accidents, funerals, etc. Therefore, not only elder people, but also teenagers and younger bunches needed to have money reserves for the future purposes. Peoples have to have a better knowledge about how to spend the money accurately. Methodically, there is a way for it called money partitioning. According to that process, part of the money needed to save for future while other parts can be use for spent. But I cant agree for this 100%, since saving is not a way to improve the economy of someone.

If someone invest the money tactically and accurately at a safe and reliable way, he or she could obtain additional profit from that invested money as a revenue. But this method needed to have better knowledge on investing and money management. In contrast, saving is only the saving, it will not give an extra profit. But it is a proper method for who is not much educated in investing and profit making. Then they save money as a habit for future security.

In conclusion, saving money is a not the best method for economically sustainable future. If someone can properly invest this, it should be strength for the future economic strength.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the importance of saving versus investing. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'money partitioning' and 'investing,' these concepts are not fully explored with concrete examples or detailed reasoning. The position is clear, but the argument lacks depth, particularly regarding why young people specifically should save. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a clear topic sentence followed by detailed explanation and a relevant example. The conclusion is brief and repeats points already made rather than synthesizing the argument effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Methodically, there is a way...' and 'According to that process...' feel forced. There are also issues with referencing; 'younger bunches' and 'peoples' are awkward phrasing choices that disrupt the flow. While there is a logical progression from saving to investing, the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, making the text feel disjointed in places. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would significantly enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'money' and 'saving,' and use some non-standard collocations like 'younger bunches' and 'future prospectus.' There are also errors in word form, such as 'need to practice all of people' instead of 'needs to be practiced by everyone.' To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to finance (e.g., 'financial literacy,' 'capital appreciation,' 'diversification') and ensure that word forms are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('saving money... that need to practice'), article usage ('the money'), and awkward sentence construction ('saving is only the saving'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct relative clauses and prepositions.
