Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of saving money. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide a personal example about cousins saving for a play station, the broader societal implications of saving for the future are only touched upon superficially. The argument remains somewhat repetitive, focusing heavily on the act of saving for consumer goods rather than the long-term financial security implied by the prompt. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the economic or psychological benefits of saving for long-term goals like education, housing, or retirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and repetitive. For example, the phrase 'In the ups and downs of the life' is used awkwardly, and the transitions between sentences often feel disjointed. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas smoothly. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the reliance on simple sentence structures and basic connectors makes the flow feel somewhat stilted rather than natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'useful', and 'money'. There are also some spelling errors, such as 'intellegance' and 'sufficent', and minor collocation issues like 'savings are proved to be blessing'. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to finance and personal development, and ensure that you are using words in their correct context to demonstrate a wider range of expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'my cousins belongs' (subject-verb agreement) and 'your their top choice' (redundant pronouns). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are frequent errors in article usage and sentence construction. The majority of the sentences are simple, and the lack of varied, error-free complex structures limits the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
