Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by agreeing with the importance of saving money. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention inflation and job insecurity, the connection between these global issues and the specific need for young people to save is not fully explored. The argument relies heavily on listing current events (e.g., layoffs at tech companies) rather than providing a structured analysis of why saving is a critical life skill. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported reason that directly answers the 'to what extent' aspect of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into three paragraphs, which is a standard structure. However, the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You rely on basic transitions like 'Overall' and 'In the conclusion', but the internal logic within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. For instance, the transition from discussing inflation to the hybrid work model feels abrupt. Additionally, the use of cohesive devices is limited, and some sentences are repetitive in their structure. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in light of this') would help create a smoother progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You use some relevant terms like 'inflation', 'multinational companies', and 'layoffs', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'man force bandwidth' and 'unnecessary stuffs'. 'Stuffs' is an uncountable noun and should not be pluralized. Furthermore, there are errors in word choice, such as 'in term to save' instead of 'in order to save'. Expanding your range to include more academic collocations and avoiding informal or incorrect word forms will significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every individual have to'), incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'in all over the world'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structures are mostly simple or compound, with limited attempts at complex sentences. When complex structures are attempted, they often contain errors, such as 'the more you save... the more you will able to help'. To reach a higher band, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
