Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on economic and health-related benefits of saving. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of 'better education system' and 'purchase favorite elements' is vague and lacks depth. While the essay covers the requirements, the supporting arguments are occasionally repetitive and lack the necessary analytical depth to reach a higher band. The inclusion of specific examples is a positive attempt, though they feel somewhat forced into the structure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Additionally', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'uncertain occurs', which disrupts the flow of the argument. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure a smoother transition between the topic sentence and the supporting evidence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'upcoming days' (used repeatedly), 'favorite elements', and 'uncertain health injury'. These choices suggest a limited range of vocabulary and some difficulty with collocation. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or precise terminology prevents the essay from achieving a higher score. The student relies on basic vocabulary to express complex ideas, which limits the overall impact of the argument.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'In is more significant', 'when they can reduces', 'people deposits their money', and 'uncertain occurs'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the reader's understanding. While the student attempts complex sentences, the control over verb agreement, article usage, and word forms is inconsistent. The frequency of these errors indicates that the student has not yet mastered the grammatical structures required for higher band scores.
