Student answer (Band 5.5)

Money is very important essential for every people. It is very important for every people specially for young people to earn money and save some of the money from their earning so, they can used their saved money in future if they will face any financial problem in future. From my perspective I am strongly agree and suggest to young people to save money for their future. Let's discuss this further.

Education is one of the great way to earn money without education it become very hard to earn money, I am not saying that if you are not educated then you can't earn money, I am just saying that it become hard to get a good job with good earing potential without education. Specially young people needs to work very hard to earn money. There was a one study it says from last two decades the unemployment rate went higher so in this kind of situation it is very important to get a good job and save some money for future.

If also young people save money they start a small business with small investment so they can start a business and earn money and if they do very hard work for their business growth they can make that business very big and can generate other source of income so they can earn more money and can save more money for their future. Also they can invest some of the money in stocks, mutual funds so they can get good return and save that money.

Young people needs to get advised by their elders to save money. For young people it is very important to save money for their future because in future they are going to start new family.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of saving money. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention education and starting a business, these points are not fully explored or supported with specific, convincing evidence. The mention of a 'study' regarding unemployment is vague and lacks detail. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed argument that directly supports your thesis. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize your main points or provide a final thought on the importance of financial literacy for young people.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. For example, the phrase 'earn money' is used excessively, and transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt. There is a lack of variety in linking words, which makes the flow feel somewhat disjointed. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider range of cohesive devices such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in light of this' to better connect your ideas and improve the overall logical progression of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is significant repetition of basic terms like 'money,' 'earn,' and 'save.' Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'every people' (should be 'everyone' or 'all people') and 'very important essential' (redundant). To improve, focus on using synonyms and more sophisticated collocations. For instance, instead of repeating 'earn money,' you could use 'generate income,' 'accumulate wealth,' or 'financial stability.' Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and impact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'young people needs'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'they can used'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the writing from being considered fluent. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, particularly verb tenses and pluralization. Proofreading your work for these common slips will significantly enhance the accuracy and professionalism of your writing.
