Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widely acknowledged that reduce expenses are so crucial for the better coming days of individuals and teenagers. I partially agree with this point of view.

First and foremost, advantage of saving money is that: it allows individuals to use the save amount at some difficult time. As life is full of hurdles and challenges and everyone is unaware about their future. For instance, the covid came as a challenge for everyone and it takes the jobs of numerous peoples. The individuals who have save adequate money for their future, they have to use this money at the time of covid.

Another important advantage is that, saving money makes the individuals cost efficient and captivates them to spend according to their basic needs only and save their assets for their bright future. For instance, the family who spend according to their desires and Live within their means and invest in various things like property and make their assets which is beneficial for their better future.

However, there are disadvantages that are associated with saving money. Numerous individuals build savings and not spend a single money on them, just for the better future had face a plethora of crisis that does not need money to resolve. For example, a freelancer who saved his savings for their better future have faced the crisis like bankcrupt and like that.

In conclusion, according to my collage of views, building savings is good for some extent, as it's not only require for better future or lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the importance of saving money, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide examples like the COVID-19 pandemic, the arguments regarding the 'disadvantages' of saving are unclear and logically weak. For instance, the claim that saving leads to bankruptcy is contradictory and lacks a clear explanation. To improve, ensure that your position is consistent throughout the essay and that each paragraph provides a logical, well-supported argument that directly relates to the prompt. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points or restate your position clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'according to my collage of views' are unnatural and do not effectively link ideas. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for example, in the third paragraph, the pronoun 'them' does not have a clear antecedent. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') more naturally to improve the flow between sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'advantage', 'money', and 'future' throughout the text. There are also several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'reduce expenses' instead of 'reducing expenses', 'save amount' instead of 'savings', and 'collage of views' instead of 'collection of views'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'captivates' in the context of financial habits. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to finance and personal management and focus on correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the covid... takes the jobs'), incorrect verb forms ('have save adequate money'), and sentence structure ('the individuals who have save... they have to use'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of colons and commas. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct tense usage, and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and article usage.
