Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position, the arguments are underdeveloped. For example, the claim that saving money leads to a decline in academic performance is presented without sufficient logical explanation or nuance. Furthermore, the response is under-length, which is a negative factor in task achievement. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and ensure you meet the minimum word count to allow for a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To Commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'To Sum Up', but these are often used incorrectly or mechanically. Paragraphing is present, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. For instance, the transition 'Although, Knowledge about finance management' is a sentence fragment that lacks a clear connection to the previous point. The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument smoothly. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve your score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'money', 'young people', and 'education'. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and word formation, such as 'preservation of money' (instead of 'saving money'), 'most pronounce' (instead of 'most pronounced'), and 'menegement' (spelling error). While you attempt to use some academic-style vocabulary, the frequent errors in collocation and spelling hinder the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and ensure you use words in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('if the learn money saving'), sentence fragments ('Although, Knowledge about finance management'), and incorrect preposition usage. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and capitalization errors (e.g., 'Government of Japan'). To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on reducing the frequency of errors in your writing.
