Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is crucial for all people, particularly young adults, to save money for the upcoming period. This essay strongly agrees with this view because this saved money will help them overcome difficult times and allows them to utilize in different aspects of life.
The first and foremost reason behind saving money is to have person's own savings in difficult times. Nowadays, job security has reduced in many fields, which then causes sudden firing of employees. After that, most of workers find it arduous to get another job and may remain unemployed for sometime. For this situation, savings allow them to afford all the basic necessities of daily life and live comfortably while searching for job. For example, some people save money through insurances and by themselves, allowing them to support themselves and their families if they lose their jobs.
Another compelling reason is that when people save a significant amount of money, they can use it for various purposes. For instance, individuals can plan a trip with their families, which them enable them to escape a break from hectic routines. Moreover, they can buy a car to make their commuting comfortable. They can also invest in housing schemes to get their own house in the long run. The younger generation can use their savings for professional education to improve their career aspects. Therefore, these savings can help individuals to enhance their living standards.
In conclusion, although saving money is quite challenging, I believe that people of all ages including young people should save money. This is because they can use this money in their hard times and can also improve their overall living standards.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant and supported by examples, such as job loss and personal financial goals like housing or education. However, the development is somewhat predictable and could benefit from more nuanced exploration of the 'young people' aspect specifically. While the arguments are logical, they remain at a general level. To reach a higher band, you should aim to deepen the analysis by contrasting the unique financial challenges faced by youth today versus previous generations, rather than just listing general benefits of saving.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two main arguments. Cohesive devices such as 'The first and foremost reason', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'which them enable them' in the second paragraph, which disrupts the flow. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the structure supports the central argument well.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the message clearly. You use some appropriate collocations like 'job security', 'hectic routines', and 'living standards'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly awkward phrasing, such as 'upcoming period' instead of 'future' or 'sudden firing of employees' instead of 'redundancy' or 'layoffs'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and idiomatic collocations to demonstrate a wider range and more sophisticated control of language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are recurring grammatical slips. For example, 'allows them to utilize in different aspects' is grammatically incomplete, and 'searching for job' lacks an article. There are also minor errors in subject-verb agreement and word order, such as 'which them enable them'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching the higher bands where the majority of sentences should be error-free.
