Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of saving money. However, the development of ideas is limited and often relies on personal anecdotes rather than a balanced discussion of the topic. The arguments regarding the social pressure to earn money are somewhat tangential to the core requirement of discussing the importance of saving for the future. The ideas are repetitive, and the essay lacks a formal structure suitable for an academic task. To improve, you should focus on developing clear, logical arguments that directly address the prompt, such as financial security, emergency preparedness, and long-term investment, rather than focusing on personal social status.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there are paragraph breaks, the internal structure of the paragraphs is disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, making the flow of ideas difficult to follow. For example, the transition between the importance of money and the personal anecdote about being 17 is abrupt and lacks a logical link. The use of referencing is often unclear, and the overall organization does not support the development of a coherent argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the readability of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very basic and often repetitive. There are numerous errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'spalling' for 'spelling', 'socity' for 'society', and 'presure' for 'pressure'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the phrasing is often unnatural or informal (e.g., 'earning machine', 'focused on money not on honey'). To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more academic and precise terms related to finance and personal development, and pay closer attention to correct spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'Money helps to you like lion of your family', 'When you are living like a poor you not have money'). The essay relies almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and apostrophes. A focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement is essential before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
