It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is argued that everyone, especially young people should save money for their future. I strongly agree with this statement because developing the habit of saving can provide financial security and you can achieve your goals in the long run. In the subsequent paragraphs, I will elaborate why saving is necessary for everyone.
We are living in the era where emergency fund is a must have. Because life is unpredictable, no none knows what will happen in future so it is better to be prepared for situation like these. Moreover, it gives you financial stability so you don't have to relay heavily on your parents. Humans have many desires and needs. For instance, buying a car, house and higher education etc. To achieve these big targets, it is essential to have savings.
If we keep on practicing this habit, it ensures us safety. Like you won't have take loans or have the need to borrow money from anyone. Young people are desparate of wanting things that are trendy. For that instead of asking from someone for money or their getting approval, if you have savings you can easily get that thing.
On the other hand, I do not believe that young people should save every peny they earn. It is important to spend money on your education, hobbies, social activities and personal development. Spending should be balanced so that they can enjoy their present as well as preparing themselves for the future.
In my conclusion, I agree that everyone including young people should save money for future. As it allows them reach their goals without having to worry about the finances and help them get greater oppurtunities in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for why saving is important, such as financial security and avoiding debt, and you have also acknowledged the counter-argument regarding the importance of spending on personal development. While the ideas are relevant, some points could be extended further with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. For instance, the mention of 'trendy' items is a bit general; explaining the long-term impact of impulsive spending versus disciplined saving would strengthen the argument. Overall, the response is well-focused and directly answers the question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and the use of referencing could be more sophisticated. For example, in the second paragraph, the transition between 'emergency fund' and 'financial stability' could be smoother. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the progression of ideas is clear.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'financial security', 'emergency fund', and 'financial stability'. However, there are some spelling errors ('relay' instead of 'rely', 'desparate' instead of 'desperate', 'peny' instead of 'penny', 'oppurtunities' instead of 'opportunities') and minor word choice issues. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure spelling accuracy. The vocabulary is sufficient for the task but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use some complex sentences, there are recurring grammatical errors, such as 'no none knows' (redundancy/error), 'you won't have take loans' (missing 'to'), and 'their getting approval' (awkward phrasing). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are occasional slips. The errors do not impede communication, but they do occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and ensuring all auxiliary verbs are included will help improve your accuracy.
