Student answer (Band 6.0)
Saving money is an important factor for a stable future. It is my contention that people of all ages should be aware of the pivotal role of saving.
Saving is a key skill that has been going on for ages. All older generations conserve financial resources for their future generations. People save money to be used in times of need. Likewise, the cash saved can become handy in any phase of future even if its related to any uncertain situation for instance, a medical emergency. Parents often save money for their children's education or even wedding. Subsequently, if money is saved aside it would ultimately prevent people from asking other person's help and use their own saving without any hassle. However, it is also compulsory for the elders to teach their children about the importance of saving by demonstrating the example themselves.
Young people today should also understand the importance of saving for future. They should realize the value of financial stability. Additionally, the skill of saving money can enhance their financial literacy. With their understanding of saving, young generation can pinch pennies owing to reward of financial independence. This little habit can be built from setting aside some money to save from their pocket money rather than spending it all.
Consequently, I am of the stance that saving money for future is a positive development in an individual no matter of what age group. Saving money can not only teach how to utilize the resources efficiently but also help in the long run by creating a balance between the present and future of any individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for why saving is important, such as financial security during emergencies and the benefits of financial literacy for young people. The ideas are generally well-developed, though some points, such as the mention of 'weddings', could have been expanded further to strengthen the argument. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that every paragraph contains a clear topic sentence and that your supporting examples are fully explored to demonstrate a deeper level of critical thinking regarding the necessity of saving for different age groups.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Likewise', 'Subsequently', 'However', and 'Consequently' to link your ideas. While the progression is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. For instance, the shift between the general importance of saving and the specific focus on young people could be more fluid. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of referencing and substitution to avoid repetitive sentence structures and ensure that the flow between sentences feels more natural and less formulaic.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'pivotal role', 'financial literacy', and 'financial independence' correctly. There are some minor issues with collocation and word choice, such as 'pinch pennies' which is an idiom that may not always fit the formal tone of an academic essay, and 'even if its related to' (should be 'it is'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the overall range is somewhat limited. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure that idiomatic expressions are used only when they are perfectly suited to the formal context of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'asking other person's help' (should be 'asking others for help') and 'no matter of what age group' (should be 'regardless of age group'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are occasional slips. The majority of your sentences are clear, and the errors do not impede communication. To improve, focus on refining your use of articles and prepositions, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses or passive voice, to demonstrate greater grammatical flexibility.
