Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era, it is believed that financial reserves are essential for everyone including youngsters. Personally, I totally agree with given statement for some reason mentioned in this essay.
On the one hand, saving money plays an important role in personal development, especially for young people. Firstly, learning to set money aside helps to improves the ability of financial management. People who saves the money often gradually develop the mindset of spending and investing in smart ways, which makes them better at financial management and might avoid unnecessary expenses. In addition, owning some amount of reserved money allows them to have more freedom and confident. This because financially independent individuals do not have to rely on others. So they can make their own choice.
On the other hand, financial planning may be useful in many situations. First of all, having an emergency fund is very important in urgent cases like being sacked, being sick, or helpful towards their family and friends. In fact, according to an surveys, about 40% of the people are not saving their money for the future purpose which makes them lend money from others or sell sell their properties to handle unexpected situations which often lead to a huge financial burden later. At last, accumulated saving is very necessary for long term goals in a person's life: like studying abroad, buying a car, or purchasing valuable assets. Without a life-long financial planning, it very hard for an ordinary person to achieve all those things in their life.
To conclude, I hold a firm belief that saving a partial income is vital for everyone in all aspects, including enhancement and attaining personal goals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as financial management and emergency preparedness. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'freedom and confident' is mentioned but not fully explored with a concrete example. Similarly, the reference to the survey is a good attempt at supporting the argument, but the explanation of why people fail to save could be more nuanced. Overall, the response is well-focused, but it would benefit from deeper elaboration on the long-term implications of financial habits to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main arguments. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'In addition,' and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or repetitive, and some transitions feel a bit forced. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences, such as 'This because financially independent individuals...', lack necessary connecting words like 'is' or 'happens', which slightly disrupts the cohesion of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for clear communication. The student uses some topic-specific terms like 'financial reserves,' 'financial management,' and 'accumulated saving.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional inaccuracies in word choice or collocation, such as 'being sacked' (which is informal; 'losing one's job' is better) and 'an surveys' (a grammatical error affecting lexical precision). To achieve a higher score, the student should incorporate a wider range of less common lexical items and ensure more precise collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('helps to improves,' 'People who saves'), missing articles or incorrect usage ('an surveys'), and awkward phrasing ('This because...'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band. The student should focus on proofreading for basic agreement and article usage to improve accuracy.
