It is significant to teach people the importance of saving money for their future and this information should not be only restricted to adults but to the youth as well. I completely agree with this notion.
It is vital for everyone to understand the importance of saving money because it creates an empathetic society where excessive spending is not appreciated. People can help one another by doing charity rather using their money on pointless expenses . Furthermore, teaching children the benefits of saving money in the early years of their development is vital as it can have a positive impact in their upbringing, it can invoke a sense of gratefulness and humbleness in them. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified the importance of saving for both adults and youth. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that saving creates an 'empathetic society,' this point is not fully explained or linked back to the core argument of financial security. The discussion on the 'YOLO' (you only live once) ideology is relevant but remains brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully extended with more specific examples or logical consequences, rather than moving quickly between ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore,' 'Moreover,' and 'To conclude' to link sentences. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow could be smoother. For example, the transition between the benefits of saving and the counter-argument about 'luxurious brands' is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some punctuation errors, such as the space before the full stop in 'expenses .', slightly disrupt the professional presentation of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'upbringing,' 'necessities,' and 'ideology.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional inaccuracies in collocation and word choice. For example, 'invoke a sense of gratefulness' is slightly unnatural; 'instill a sense of gratitude' would be more precise. Similarly, 'following in their parents footsteps' requires an apostrophe ('parents''). While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher band scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally distract the reader. For example, 'many peoples opinion' should be 'people's opinion,' and 'its necessary' should be 'it is' or 'it's.' There are also some run-on sentences and comma splices, such as '...in their upbringing, it can invoke...', where a semicolon or a full stop would be more appropriate. Increasing your control over complex sentence structures and refining your punctuation will help improve your score in this criterion.
