Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that, everybody should save money for future including minors. I completely agree with this viewpoint because it offers substential benefit for individuals and society.

One of the strongest reasons why I agree with this is that saving money can offer a productive future. This is primarily, because no body is sure about emergency situation of life it may come at any time. Saving money for any kind of emergency can be a great idea for individuals. For instance, if someone face a medical emergency and does not has proper money for treatment may face a severe consequences. Saving money for future can play a vital role in fulfilling any hobbies, also in older age. Therefore, I firmly believe that giving greater priority to saving money can bring a markable change in our society.

Another equally compelling justification for my position is saving money from young age can make a person more confident about their life. By prioritising this approach communities dependency on job will decline. If any one save money from a small age they will get a significant financial support for their oncoming start-up, so they can do something on their own. As a consequences, social cohesion will raise. A compelling example of this can be observed in many developed country where pupils has to do something from their own money. Taken together these arguments clearly justify why I agree with the given statement.

In conclusion, I believe that this measure should be given grater priority, as it contribute significantly to sustainable developments and overall well-being.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the importance of emergency funds and the potential for financial independence in youth. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'social cohesion' is introduced but not fully explained or linked logically to the act of saving money. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended with more specific, concrete examples to reach a higher band. The response is balanced and addresses the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'One of the strongest reasons', 'Another equally compelling justification', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, there is some mechanical use of these devices, and occasionally the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. For example, the transition between the idea of 'start-ups' and 'social cohesion' is abrupt. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the use of cohesive links could be more sophisticated and natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'compelling justification', 'sustainable developments', and 'oncoming start-up'. However, there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and collocation, such as 'markable change' (instead of 'remarkable'), 'no body is sure about emergency situation' (awkward phrasing), and 'pupils has to do something from their own money'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the expression. A wider range of vocabulary and more accurate collocations would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage. Examples include 'does not has proper money', 'As a consequences', 'many developed country', and 'it contribute significantly'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the message. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips, particularly regarding pluralisation and verb forms.
