Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued by some people believe that saving money for future is crucial for everyone particularly the youth. Although some might disagree with this notion, I completely agree saving money is important. Not only because helpful in poor time, helpful business, but also because of better lifestyle.
There are multiple benefit associated with topic. Firstly, helpful in poor time is the leading benefit of this. As they help them in that time when you need it . Take an example, the societies of Chinese people no need of financial help because they save a money for future use so it help in the poor time when they need it. Thus, this point proved saving money helpful in the poor time.
Secondly, business help is another advantage of this. As for the successful business money play an important role. For instance, successful businessman of Nepal, says at the started of his business he save money for future use late it helpful in development of bigger business. Hence, this mega benefit proved that saving money is important.
Finally, better lifestyle is the another leading advantage of saving money. As money help to buy any you wanted. For instance, the elder people of Japan, spend a comfortable life because they save money when they was young. Thus, in term of better lifestyle saving money is important.
To sum up, I believe that in term of helpful in poor time, helpful in business not only this term it also helpful for better lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that saving money is important for everyone, particularly the youth. The writer attempts to support this position with three main arguments: financial security during difficult times, capital for starting a business, and achieving a better lifestyle. However, these ideas are underdeveloped and rely on vague generalities rather than deep elaboration or strong, specific examples. For instance, the reference to Chinese and Japanese societies lacks precise context or depth. Furthermore, the phrasing in the introduction and body paragraphs shows some repetition. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 5 by addressing the prompt and presenting relevant ideas, though the support remains limited and restricted in development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, which shows basic paragraphing skills. However, the overall progression of ideas is hindered by awkward transitions and repetitive sentence structures (such as starting multiple paragraphs with 'Secondly, ...' or 'Finally, ...'). Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical and inaccurate, such as 'helpful in poor time' or 'in term of better lifestyle'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow at times. While there is an overarching structure, the frequent misuse of cohesive ties places this response firmly in Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used throughout the essay is basic, repetitive, and heavily influenced by direct translation or poor word forms, such as 'poor time' instead of 'difficult times' or 'financial hardship', and 'business help'. The student attempts less common vocabulary items, but these are frequently misused in terms of collocation and word class (e.g., 'save a money', 'businessmen... says at the started'). Spelling errors like 'started' instead of 'start' also occur. The lexical range is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, but the noticeable errors and restricted variety indicate a Band 5 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most complex sentence attempts are faulty or incomplete, as seen in the introduction: 'Not only because helpful in poor time, helpful business, but also because of better lifestyle.' There are frequent errors in verb tense, article usage, preposition selection, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'money play an important role', 'when they was young'). These frequent errors consistently strain the reader and cause confusion, preventing the text from reaching a higher band. While simple sentences are occasionally accurate, the high density of structural errors aligns with Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 for the successful communication of basic concepts.
