Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing agreement with the statement that saving money for the future is important, including for young people. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The writer mentions basic points such as investing in business, house renovation, trips, and buying food, but these ideas lack depth and extension. Sentences like 'Saving money for the future helps in crucial time' are reiterated without being fully expanded upon with concrete explanation or advanced argumentation. Furthermore, the position is somewhat simplistic throughout the essay. Because all parts of the task are addressed albeit in a limited and repetitive manner, this performance aligns closely with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. However, progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of smooth transitions between sentences. Cohesive devices are minimal, basic, and sometimes inaccurate, such as repetitive use of 'This money' and 'We can also'. Paragraphing is attempted, but individual paragraphs lack internal cohesion and flow, often consisting of a sequence of disconnected or repetitive simple sentences rather than logically linked ideas. Pronoun referencing is occasionally unclear, which contributes to choppy transitions. These features reflect the characteristics of Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies heavily on simple words and phrases such as 'saving money', 'future', 'business', and 'happy'. There are noticeable errors in word formation, collocation, and choice, such as 'feeses' (fees), 'making enjoyments', 'crucial time' instead of 'crucial times', and 'wasteful things'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with inaccuracy, such as 'secret of successful men that they can not waste their money'. Vocabulary limitations cause noticeable repetition and restrict the precision of the response, placing it firmly in the Band 5 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences and basic subject-verb-object patterns. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty or awkward, as seen in 'This is the secret of successful men that they can not waste their money in buying things instead they can invest that money in their business and gets profit.' There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'We saves money' and tense inconsistencies ('can not waste' mixed with 'gets profit' and 'makes a profit'). These frequent errors can cause occasional difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 5 descriptors.
