Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding saving money for the future, presenting a clear personal position ('I am completely agree with that statement'). However, the development of ideas is severely limited and incomplete. The essay ends abruptly mid-sentence, leaving arguments under-developed and failing to meet the minimum word count of 250 words, as the response contains only 181 words. While the writer touches on the role of parents in teaching financial habits and the benefits of future planning, these points lack the necessary extension and support expected for a complete Task 2 response. Due to the significant under-length and incomplete development, the score reflects these limitations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates some basic structural organisation with introductory and body paragraph transitions, such as 'To commence with' and 'In addition'. However, the overall progression breaks down significantly, particularly as the essay remains unfinished and trails off at the end. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are extremely brief and lack internal cohesion. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'if ones parents do not teach them about savings, so they will become lessresponsible', where pronoun referencing creates ambiguity. Cohesive devices are used mechanically rather than flexibly, and the abrupt ending disrupts the logical flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited vocabulary range with noticeable errors in word choice and word formation that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'relate in the life', 'next coming days', 'dramatic situation', and 'lessresponsible'. There are also lexical slips such as 'life is to short' instead of 'too short'. While the writer attempts some more formal phrases like 'facilitating a man through the dramatic situation', the execution is awkward and imprecise. The range of vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic ideas, but frequent inaccuracies place it firmly within the lower-intermediate band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The writing exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and flawed complex forms. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('money plays', 'there a parents responsibility'), incorrect prepositions ('completely agree with that statement' instead of 'to'), and punctuation errors. Conditional structures are attempted but constructed incorrectly, such as 'if ones parents do not teach them about savings, so they will become'. Furthermore, sentence structures are incomplete at the end of the text. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader.
