Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear and consistent position in agreement with the statement that saving money for the future is important for everyone, including young people. The writer presents relevant ideas regarding financial stability, increasing expenses such as education and medical care, and the consequences of poor financial habits. However, some arguments remain somewhat underdeveloped, particularly regarding the role of government and parents, which shifts focus slightly away from the core topic. The ideas are supported by general examples, but they tend to over-generalise rather than providing deeply extended reasoning. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the criteria for Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as the causes of financial strain and personal examples. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases are occasionally misused or repetitive, and referencing is not always completely clear, as seen with phrases like 'One of the most significant reason is, it will prevent from poor financial condition.' Despite these mechanical flaws, the progression of ideas is generally understandable. These features align closely with Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting less common items such as 'financial condition', 'accommodations', and 'consequences'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'condtion', 'strick', 'banned' instead of 'ban', and 'usefull' instead of 'useful'. Furthermore, collocations are occasionally unnatural, such as 'spending in parties' or 'start money'. While these errors occur throughout the text, they do not severely impede communication, as the writer's overall meaning remains clear. This lexical control corresponds to a Band 5.5 score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to vary sentence structure with conditional clauses, such as 'if a family or a person including young people start saving...'. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the essay. Examples include subject-verb agreement errors ('fees for Education... is rapidly increasing', 'encourages the people'), incorrect prepositions ('prevent from poor financial condition'), and fragments or run-on structures. Although these errors are frequent and sometimes cause difficulty for the reader, communication is maintained. Therefore, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
