Student answer (Band 5.5)
Making a budget for expenditure is a best life skill. A group of individuals argue that every group of people should save the money for their upcoming life. I partially agree with the statement and I will discuss my view points in enumerated paragraphs.
To commence with, there are several reasons why everyone should save money for their career. Initially, when people learn to save or spent their income in proper way they can save alot of money for their future. Because sometimes people spent money on unnessecary thing which they barely use. For example, people commonly buy products because of attractive advertisments or hype of the product. Moreover, the saved finance also assist people in various situation where they need extra money such as in medical procedure need required a significant amount of to pay the hospital bills or to initiate a new business in future. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear, albeit partially articulated, position on whether everyone should save money for the future. The writer introduces relevant arguments for both sides in the body paragraphs. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and the conclusion is abruptly cut off mid-sentence. Phrases like 'when people learn to save or spent their income in proper way' show an attempt to discuss the core issue, but the reasoning remains slightly superficial. The position is maintained throughout the text, meeting the basic requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, two body paragraphs, and an attempted conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points of view. However, cohesive devices are sometimes faulty or mechanical, such as the abrupt transitions ('To commence with', 'On the flip side') and minor referencing issues. Additionally, the progression is disrupted at the very end where the sentence trails off uncompleted ('As a result, it'). These flaws place the response solidly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'expenditure', 'unnessecary', and 'domestic conflicts'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('unnessecary', 'advertisments', 'beacuse', 'donot', 'pressurise') and occasional word-choice issues like 'saved finance' instead of 'savings'. Despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general meaning without severely impeding communication, aligning with the Band 5.5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional ideas and subordinate clauses introduced by 'because' and 'although'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including tense and form inconsistencies ('or spent their income', 'medical procedure need required a significant amount of to pay'), missing articles, and punctuation issues. Because these errors occur frequently and can occasionally cause difficulty or hesitation for the reader, a Band 5.0 is appropriate.
