Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argued that it is essential for everbody including young individuals to save money for the upcoming time. I completely agree with this statement, because this thing provides benefit in a difficult time in the case of any emergency or change in circumstances such as an increase in petrol and everything ,due to ongoing war.

It is important for everyone to save money for their future. This is because, it gives motivation and relaxation to people in their easy time that they are able to survive in any upcoming unexpected event. For example, a government servant whose sallary remains same every year and does not save money for their future time, than nowdays due to war, the petrol prices are sky rocket across whole world. This also become a reason of an increase in all other items such as food, travel, daily expenses, which leads to problems such as stress and anxiety. Therefore, it is necessary to save money as it finds beneficial in any unexpected movement.

It is a good practice for young individuals to save money as this thing helps them in case of any emergency. For instance, an undergraduate student who stores pocket money is able to spend in the case of any accident, when traveling to university or on trips with friends. As a result, young people support themselves without seeking or requesting help by unknown people or classmates.

In conclusion, saving money for the future time is the best practice and it is important for everybody including young people. People are able to get strength and confidence that they will support themselves in any unexpected bad situation such as war. It is good for young people also to cover the expenses in case of any emergency such as road accident.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by clearly stating a position that the writer completely agrees with the prompt. The main ideas, such as preparing for emergencies and helping young people handle unexpected costs, are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as reference to petrol prices due to war and students saving pocket money. Although some explanations feel slightly repetitive or overly conversational in tone (for instance, mentioning 'petrol and everything'), the overall argument remains coherent and fully relevant to the prompt. The response meets the core requirements of Task Achievement and sits comfortably at Band 6.0, as it addresses all parts and supports relevant ideas, though some parts are slightly under-developed or colloquial.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two distinct body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas regarding general savings and young people. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, seen in phrases like 'this thing' and repetitive transitional structures like 'It is important for everyone...' and 'It is a good practice...'. Referencing is generally clear, but the overuse of simple demonstrative pronouns and repetitive sentence openings prevents the essay from achieving a higher band. Overall, the logical progression is evident, making Band 6.0 an accurate reflection of the organizational skills demonstrated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'circumstances', 'unexpected event', and 'undergraduate student'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'upcoming time' instead of 'future', 'easy time' instead of 'stable times', and 'sallary remains same' with a spelling error. Phrases like 'sky rocket' (used as an adjective or verb incorrectly) and 'unexpected movement' instead of 'moment or emergency' show that while the writer has sufficient vocabulary to communicate their main ideas, lexical control is inconsistent. These errors do not impede communication, placing the response at a solid Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures such as 'when traveling to university or on trips with friends' and 'in the case of any accident'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('a government servant', 'sallary remains same'), incorrect tense or word forms ('than nowdays', 'it finds beneficial' instead of 'it proves beneficial'), and comma splices or awkward punctuation. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6.0. Therefore, a Band 5.5 is appropriate due to the persistence of grammatical inaccuracies alongside attempted complex structures.
