IELTS Writing Task 2 question
It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is often argued that everyone, including young people, should save money for their future. **I strongly agree with this view**, as saving provides financial security and helps people achieve important long-term goals. However, young people should also be allowed to spend a reasonable amount on enjoying their present lives.
One important reason for saving money is that it provides **protection against unexpected situations**. People may suddenly lose their jobs, experience health problems or face urgent expenses. In such circumstances, having savings can prevent them from depending on relatives or taking expensive loans. For example, a young person who saves part of their monthly salary could use this money to pay their living expenses if they became unemployed. Therefore, developing the habit of saving early can provide both financial stability and peace of mind.
Furthermore, savings can help young people achieve **major goals in the future**. Buying a house, starting a business or paying for higher education often requires a considerable amount of money. By putting aside a small amount regularly, young people can gradually build a substantial fund. For instance, someone who saves 10% of their income every month from the beginning of their career may eventually have enough money for a house deposit or further education. Saving also encourages responsible financial habits and better control over unnecessary spending.
Nevertheless, young people should not focus exclusively on saving. Spending money on education, travel, hobbies and social activities can also contribute to personal development and happiness.
In conclusion, **I strongly agree that young people should save money for their future**, but they should maintain a sensible balance between financial preparation and enjoying the present.

The majority of your sentences are error-free, and you demonstrate solid control over grammar and punctuation. There are only occasional minor slips, but these do not interfere with understanding. Punctuation is used correctly to demarcate clauses and lists, contributing to an overall clean and polished grammatical presentation.
